Activities & trips - have fun with friends

When not on water or in class, you will enjoy activities and trips and, in many cases, you can choose between them. Activities can include football, beach volleyball, basketball, mini-golf, pizza and games, arts and crafts, beach games, a talent show, or a disco . On Saturdays, you go on full-day trips to iconic places such as Stonehenge & Salisbury, London, or Oxford. Or if you want a mix of history and excellent shopping, Exeter is the place for you. In the fashionable city of Bath you can see glorious Georgian architecture. For a day full of adventure combining dramatic coastlines, with a lovely seaside town, a ride on a steam train across the countryside in true Harry Potter style, visiting a traditional village with a castle ruin, go on our Purbeck day-trip. Be aware, this involves walking!

Language classes - learn by doing

You will have 15 full hours of lessons each week from 09.00 to 12.30 Monday to Friday. This includes the written and speaking test, induction and cultural lesson on the first day. You will be in class based on your level with students of different nationalities.

Our teachers are trained in the communicative method of language teaching and will help you develop your skills in English communication with your classmates about interesting topics. Your lessons will be more relaxed than what you experience in school. You will get no grades so you can relax and not be afraid to make mistakes, as we believe they are important if you want to stretch yourself as a speaker of English.

Your English classes - where and when

You will have your English lessons at Weymouth College, which is a few minutes’ walk from the beach and the town centre. All classes are in the same building within the campus and it is easy to find your way around. The classrooms are spacious and light and have interactive whiteboards. There is free access to the college Wi-fi in the whole area. In the breaks you can use the relaxation area or the space outside the building.

You will attend 15 full hours of English lessons a week which includes the written and oral test, and induction on the first day. Lessons are usually from 09.00 to 12.30 with a total break time of 30 minutes but they may occasionally take place in the afternoon from 13.30 to 17.00 with a total break time of 30 minutes.
